Teen Outreach Pregnancy Services (TOPS) is a non-profit organization founded in 2000 to address the unique needs of pregnant teens by providing a support program in a non-judgmental and teen specific environment. Through this program they hope to optimize the outcomes for teen mothers and their babies, as well as help to prepare the teens for motherhood and the sudden lifestyle change that occurs. By offering this unique program, they help high-risk teens overcome barriers that they face while encouraging them to move forward in their lives in a positive way. All programs and services are available to pregnant and parenting teens regardless of ethnicity or financial status.

Project Description:

Teen Outreach Pregnancy Services previously used a Microsoft Access system on a local in-house server to maintain their database needs. Unfortunately this system was not fitting their needs. Only two of their employees could access the database at a time, and TOPS was also expanding their offices to Phoenix, AZ. This means Teen Outreach needed a more efficient and accessible database system. Kappes Designs determined a database driven website would be the most efficient and reliable system to use. Kappes Designs designed and developed a web driven database. This allowed easy user interface while keeping the complexity their database required. The database created stores various client record information, a class scheduling system, and a series of reports; all of which are easily accessible and easy to use.
